EU: No Sales Quotas Coming for EVs

The European Union tells reporters it has no interest in imposing sales quotas for electric vehicles to help accelerate their adoption.

The statement dispels a report by Handelsblatt citing unnamed EU sources who say the European Commission wants to begin imposing minimum sales targets for EVs in 2025.

Reuters notes that over the weekend Germany’s economy minister suggested his country should consider EV sales targets for carmakers.
