The boom in automotive electronics shows that technology isn't a limitation anymore. "Everything is possible," asserts Anil Valsan, Global Lead Analyst, Automotive & Transportation at EY. "It's a matter of where customers see value and what they are willing to pay for."

The ability of smart phones to connect consumers makes them want to bring the world but not the whole world into their cars, Valsan notes. He says they're being selective, so manufacturers are focusing on providing relevant content.
