Hexagon Buys AutonomouStuff

Sweden’s Hexagon AB has acquired Morton, Ill.-based software developer AutonomouStuff LLC.

Hexagon specializes in mapping and sensor technology. AutonomouStuff provides software platforms for autonomous vehicles, robotics and data intelligence. Terms of the deal, which is expected to be completed this summer, weren’t disclosed.

Founded in 2010 by Bobby Hambrick, AutonomouStuff posted sales of $45 million last year. The company, which says it has been profitable every year since its inception, also has offices in Beijing, Detroit and Silicon Valley.

Hexagon had sales of about 3.5 billion ($4.1 billion) last year. The company employs 18,000 people in 50 countries.
